Congratulations! You’ve delivered your beautiful baby and your GP has given you the go-ahead to join WW. We’re thrilled to have you as part of the WW family.

On your registration form you have indicated if you are breastfeeding. Do advise your Wellness Workshop Coach so your SmartPoints® allowances will be adjusted for breastfeeding exclusively or transitioning (or feeding 2 babies) to solids to account for the extra nutrition you need for each stage.

On WW digital tools update your profile in account settings and remember the online Coach is there 24/7 (desktop only) for any questions you have.

To ensure good health and ongoing milk production, it’s important that you follow these guidelines:

  • Have 3 servings of milk products each day to ensure adequate protein, calcium, and fluid intake.

  • Eat plenty of vegetables and fruit to boost your intake of necessary vitamins and minerals.

  • Have 3 teaspoons of healthy oil per day for more vitamin E. (Canola, olive, sunflower, safflower and flaxseed are good choices).

  • Drink plenty of water. Being well-hydrated contributes to your milk supply.

 Check in with your GP about your progress. Also consult your doctor if you are:

  • Allergic to or unable to tolerate milk

  • Nursing more than one baby

  • Thinking that your milk supply is decreasing

  • Concerned about specific questions regarding foods to avoid, or dietary supplements to take

While breastfeeding, the SmartPoints system is designed to lead to a weight loss of up to 1lb a week. Losing more weight than this may affect the quality and quantity of your breast milk.
