  • 140g Porridge oats
  • 1 medium Apple(s), cored and grated
  • 15g Chia Seeds, dry
  • 550ml Unsweetened Almond Drink
  • 1 1/3 tablespoons Groovy Food Co. Agave Nectar Light Amber & Mild
  • 250g Cherries, fresh, frozen and thawed
  • 1/2 Orange(s) zest(s) of 1
  • 20g Asda Flaked Almonds, toasted
  • 4ml Asda Extra Special French Almond Extract


  1. Put the oats, apple and chia seeds in a large bowl and stir to combine. Add the almond milk, 1 tablespoon of the agave syrup and the almond extract and stir until combined. Cover and put in the fridge to chill overnight.
  2. Before you’re ready to serve, make the compote. Put the cherries, orange zest and remaining agave syrup in a medium pan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for a few minutes until the cherries are softened and just heated through. Drain off and discard 1 tablespoon of the liquid, then roughly crush the cherries with a fork, keeping some of them whole.
  3. Divide the oat mixture between bowls, then serve topped with the cherry compote and the flaked almonds.

A dollop of plain soya yogurt will add creaminess
